$100,000—that’s what is on the line for competitors in the Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza each year.
For decades, fishermen in Arkansas have taken to a 300-mile long waterway for three days of fishing where prizes range from $50,000 in cash for the biggest fish, to thousands of hourly prizes. The Big Bass Bonanza is an annual, summer mega-event for outdoor enthusiasts in the Natural State; but it needed a website to match the drawing power of its prizes.

Building a website to drive event attendance
With an outdated website that did little to drive online registrations, the Big Bass Bonanza was relying on publicity from local t.v. news and radio stations to drive attendance. However, a growing social media presence meant that it was time for the annual tournament to take a step up. That’s where Metal Potato came in.
We redesigned the Big Bass Bonanza website to not only drive registrations on mobile, but to give fishermen on the water a reason to visit the website as well. Thanks to a Metal Potato-exclusive mobile video format, the website is a beautiful conversion platform. And, thanks to a partnership with sonar company Navionics, we’ve embedded live marine maps into the website that overlay with Google Maps.
It’s a fully interactive, fully engaging website that’s driving record publicity for the a legacy, state-wide event.
The team at Metal Potato exceeded our expectations with their creativity, attention to detail, and seamless user experience. They transformed our vision into a website that truly captures the essence of the Bonanza.
